Video Widget

  1. Click on the plus button at the left top corner.
  2. Select a Video widget from the Basic section.



There are several ways to add a video:

  1. Drag and drop your video onto the drop field at the top right corner or directly onto the page section.

  1. Upload from your device by hovering over the drop field and selecting the 'Browse device' option.
  2. Import from your Project library by hovering over the drop field and selecting the 'Browse project library' option.

  1. Paste the YouTube, Vimeo, or Dailymotion video URL into the input field located below the drop field.

Please note: Storied has limited control over the video settings and analytics in this case.

If your video has been already uploaded into Storied you can add it by: 

  1. Selecting it directly from the Assets tab on the left side of the screen.
  2. Selecting it from another project's assets.


How to adjust the Video widget?

  1. Locate the Video button with the gear icon in the properties panel on the right side. Click on it.


You can find all the available settings for the Video here.



Download

You can download your video by clicking the 'Download' button below the image preview field.


Remove

You can remove your video by clicking the 'Remove' button below the image preview field.

After removing the video, you'll be able to upload or select another video for this widget. The new video will be automatically fitted to the existing widget borders based on its width.

Video attributes

  • Autoplay: Automatically starts video playback after the page is loaded without requiring the user to press a play button.

Please note: Most browsers will block auto play unless the video is muted.

  • Loop: After the video finishes playing, it automatically starts again, creating a continuous loop of playback.
  • Muted: Turns off the video's sound by default, allowing it to play without sound.


Fill Mode

  1. Auto: The video maintains its aspect ratio and scales within the widget's dimensions.
  2. Contain: The video maintains its aspect ratio and fits within the container's dimensions, possibly leaving empty space on the sides.
  3. Cover: The video maintains its aspect ratio and covers the entire container, cropping the video if it doesn't fit the container's dimensions.
  4. Fit: The video maintains its aspect ratio and crops the video if it doesn't fit the widget's dimensions.

Controls

  1. Full Controls: Play/Pause button, volume control button, seek bar for video scrubbing, full-screen toggle button
  2. Mute Button: Play/Pause button, button to toggle sound on/off
  3. None: The video will play without any visible control elements. Users won't be able to control volume, or seek through the video using the interface, but may use mouse to control playback by clicking on the video.

Cover Image

The cover image is the image that viewers see when they encounter the video on a webpage or in a video player before they click to play it.

Cover Video

The cover video is used to represent a video before it's played.

Please note: duration of the video should be less than 10 seconds.
